Shared Area
In our shared area we have Patana Central which is like a shopping centre. We have a dentist, a sushi bar, opticians, cafe and greengrocers.
When we play in these we are learning to be gentle, polite, communicate, cooperate, have a imagination and be a good thinker.
In the Sushi Bar you can make plastercine Sushi and learn how to use chop sticks and exercise the muscles in your fingers.
In the cafe you learn how to use money and pay with the right money.
To learn how to eat properly in the cafe for example not to speak with food in your mouth. To learn how fun it is to be whatever job you are playing and then you could be it when you grow up.
You learn to design glasses and play where you test to see if your eye sight is fine in the Opticians.
In the shared area dentist we are learning about where teeth are in the mouth and what shapes they can be.
You can get pretend vegetables and fruits and weigh them and learn how to read scales in the year 3 greengrocers between 3w and 3C.

Smoothies
Everyclass is making a smoothie for judges to taste and the winning smoothie goes in the snack bar so people can buy it.
Before we let the judges taste it we are going to think of stuff to put in the smoothies.
Today we tasted some drinks so we can see if we wanted to put them in the smoothie.
We tasted apple juice, orange juice, blackcurrant cordial, lemon cordial, drinking yogurt, sprite, soda water and plain water.
We walked around the classroom and we saw some drinks and we tasted them. You had to write if it was sour, sweet or other words to describe it. Give it a score from 0 to 10.
This graph shows us how many people liked the drinks.
The water the most popular drink that the class tasted.
That means we would use frozen water (ice) in a smoothie because we know children like water.

Miss Louise typed it for them.

Super Phonics
Suuupppper Phoooniiics to the rescue!
Today in phonics we practised the two sounds the ure sound and the qu sound.
We played a game called buried tresure and we used the two sounds ure and qu.
The buried treasure game with the ure sound was hard because ganure was a word on the game and we thought it was real and it wasn't!
Play the game here http://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/BuriedTreasure2.html

Loi Kratong
What a brilliant day!
Please post comments about what you thought of the day.
In Literacy we wrote a piece together about Loi Kratong. Here is is.
BPS has special days where students take part in different activities. There are many types of activities for example Loi Kratong, Tiger Day, international day and Busking day. Read below to find out more.
Loi Kratong
Loi Kratong is when Thai people say sorry to the god of water for making it dirty and thank you for the water.
On Loi Kratong the students go to the exam hall and do Loi Kratong activities such as make rubber leaf flowers, kratongs, dough dolls and lotus dolls. They also dress up in Traditional Thai costumes. The students float kratongs on the secondary pond.
